JALOU NIGHTCLUB ASSAULT APPEAL

British Transport Police have released CCTV images as part of an investigation into an assault at a nightclub in Newcastle city centre.

The incident happened at Jalou Nightclub on Neville Street at around quarter past two in the morning on Saturday, June 27th.

Police say a woman was verbally abused by a man, and when her friend stepped in to try to calm the situation, the man punched both women in the face.

The women suffered swelling and extensive bruising, including around their eyes.

Officers want to speak to the man pictured, who they think is from Birmingham, as they believe he could have information which may help their investigation. If you recognise him, please contact British Transport Police.
